Yard Work & Built in Grill

This is where the garden is going...the dirt was a pain in the butt to spread thankfully Matt was around to help or I would have given in and rented some equipment to help me

This built in grill was a brain child of how to spruce up the backyard into an entertainment space without spending a ton of money. Its going to look great when its done
We got the garden in

Matt went to go and get our rock so we could put it on the grill and it was buried behind these other boxes luckily after some time they got them out

Working On Our Green Thumbs

This summer the girls and I decided we are going to focus on gardening and learn new things about it. So....we're planting a garden and flowers
We are definitely getting dirty along the way
We got all of our dirt...which was more than we were planning
It was a ton of work to spread it all out
And our flowers are doing great and are beautiful
And our plants are all alive too

Building Our Patio Furniture and Conference Weekend

Matt and I have been wanting to get patio furniture since we moved in last winter but its all so blasted expensive. As I was looking thru the classified for them I found one I really liked but didn't want pay what they were asking. As I was showing Matt he said we should build them and its all history from there. I think Matt's been missing having a project so this was perfect.

It became a family affair when we started staining them. All the girls wanted to help. It made the painting go faster for sure

Then we added flower pots to the list of to do

It was a great way to spend our conference weekend with me not feeling great and it also allowed us to listen to most of conference and with the beautiful weather the kids were happy to play outside. I love how Matt and I are such a great team. He's a great match for me

Gracie and I got all our pieces organized before we got started. She was my right hand and a super helper
Emy was the internal inspector making sure Gracie and I were doing a good job. It is also one of her favorite places to sit now

Here it is all done and ready for some summer BBQs and to be built in to Matt and I's next project

We are Building an Ark

With all of the snow and the now unseasonable warm weather water has become a real issue more for others than for us but I noticed this morning that our trampoline hole now looks like an in ground swimming pool. Which was fine and kinda funny until it melt more and overflowed the hole heading towards the house. I was then worried we would have more problems with the window wells but that didn't seem to be the case. Once the hole started over flowing I pulled s couple pumps from window wells that weren't having issues and put them on the trampoline. The frame of the tramp was 7/5 in under water and the grass was 5 inches. The middle of the tramp was 12 inches under water. I have never seen so much water in my life. Luckily we have the pumps and know how to use them so after 12 hours of pumping there is only about 2 inches of water left on the tramp. It was probably a really good thing that I followed the prompting I had to put the pumps out there prematurely because about 4 pm it started pouring rain and then 3 hours later turned to snow and now everything is covered in snow again. Would the water have been fine probably but who knows. What I have learned is when you have a prompting even inf you think its just a thought you just do it. Now at least when it warms up again we will have more space for the water in the hole since we pumped out quite a bit of it. My mom called and asked if we are building an ark yet. Although the water issues are annoying Tremonton is having some devastating flooding that is over taking homes and making so they can't live a normal life. Right now they are unable to do laundry, flush a toilet, or really put anything down the drain. For now we will take it and deal with it as it comes but I would be lying if I said I wasn't happy it had snowed again because now all the water is frozen...at least for now.
